# Contacts

> Give Vida Agents consistent customer identity and communication context.

Contacts help an Agent recognize a person across conversations and retain the information needed for follow-up. A Contact can connect identifiers such as phone numbers and email addresses with customer details, recent communication, lists, and ongoing workflow state.

## Use one Contact per person

Before adding someone, search for an existing Contact by phone number, email address, or name. Reusing the same Contact avoids fragmented history and conflicting information.

Keep Contact data focused on the person and the next interaction. Store inventory, documents, invoices, and other business records in their source systems.

## Sync mobile contacts

The Vida mobile app can sync contacts from your device when you grant Contacts permission. This lets Vida recognize known callers and apply the routing options available in the app.

Review the imported Contacts after syncing, especially when the same person appears under several phone numbers or email addresses.

## Use Contacts in ongoing work

Contact Lists can group people for a shared objective such as follow-up, appointment preparation, lead recovery, or customer success. Keep the current outcome and next action concise, then verify communication results before advancing the workflow.

A queued call, text, or email is not proof that the person was reached. Review the Contact's recent communication and the related conversation before deciding what should happen next.
