# Enabling SMS

> Enable SMS capabilities on your Vida Agent by registering your Brand and Texting Campaign with Carriers.

To use application-to-person SMS on US carrier networks, register the business and texting use case represented by your Vida Agent.

While signed in to Vida, open [Enable SMS Capabilities](https://vida.io/inbox?requestAccess=true) and provide the requested business, use-case, and consent information.

### Next Steps

Carrier review time varies. Vida will provide status updates as the registration moves through review. Do not publish an SMS workflow until the sending number is approved and a real opt-in test succeeds.

### Keep in mind

Configure the Agent to identify the represented business, honor opt-out requests, and send only messages covered by the approved use case and customer consent.
